This has also happened to me. And I live in Spain, but the truth is that something wrong was going on in my computer. It's got a virus and this virus must report to his company. There comes the scam. I also hanged up the phone. It was too weird.
I GOT THE SAME THING ACCENT, BACK GROUND NOISE, AFTER HE [***] ME FOR A LONG TIME I TOLD HIM OK AS SOON AS I BUY MY FIRST COMPUTER HE CAN FIX IT FOR ME!! LOL HE WAS PISSED AND I WAS HAPPY!! :-)
sheesh i turned these people into the ny bbb tey knew exactly who i was speaking about,now they changed to a diff number 678-203-2052 track o the sme people,this time it was a female who had broken english india..could hear a room full of people/telemarketers,she started to ask me something and i said can you repeat that? she hangs up,im starting to wonder if majic jack sold my number to these telemarketers,imean hw do they randomly just figure out my number?ts no even liste,majik jack also has no number to talk directly to the company they are a live chat,got a feeling they gave my number out,im fixing to get nasty at them if that female calls a third time im gonna turn the call around ask her if she is single ask her what she weighs if i can have a pic of her ask her for a date(which i bet ya se`d hang up mighty fast,!hethe guy would start calling again my luck im curious if i said SURE i need a home improvement! when can you get started? i can see some india carpenters run from ny to okla to do home improvements:)
Had a call from these guys earlier today but couldn't pick up my phone, they didn't leave a message either. I'm in the UK too, and use a netgear modem: the plot thickens. I don't know how they got my number though, as it's my flatmate who owns the modem, I guess it's because I use the wi-fi on my smartphone from time to time. Makes me cringe.
I just got one from this number claiming to have medical information about my diabetes. He would not answer my question about how he got information about my medical conditions. I told him not to call again and that we are on the Do Not Call list.
Lots of noise in the background, and heavy Indian accent.
