They called my work number in a State agency. I listened to the whole thing. It is some kind of a telemarketing thing for (probably) somebody who will (for a fee) make an Offer in Compromise to the IRS on your behalf. (They said it was for "people who owe $10k or more to the IRS")
If you really do owe $10k or more to the IRS you don't have to hire a Scam company (undoubtedly at a hefty fee) to make an offer in compromise to the IRS. Any taxpayer who owes so much that the IRS doesn't believe it can collect the whole amount can do that.
I also have that model Panasonic Digital Phone. Use that feature often. Set up my cell phone as a block to see what unwanted callers hear and after one ring goes immediately to an annoying busy signal! Love it! Great investment and didn't even know it had that feature until after I took it home and read through the instructions. Should be standard with all digital phone systems!
