this call came through even though I have a block on solicitations. didn't listen long enough to get the name of the company but they should be closed down.
I believe that phone numbers are "hijacked" from other people's call lists and persons with whom you have done business who sells them. Understand though that the DNC list is another government ploy to make us feel better about getting these unsolicited calls. They can and will no NOTHING about it. When is the last time you EVER heard of anyone being busted for making these calls? Also ask yourself why politicians exempted themselves from the DNC list. Just wait until the primaries next year. You might want to change your number to one in Mozambique.
Love the idea but these unscrupulous a**holes change the call from numbers too frequently for the blocking to be of much use and you can spend more time maintaining the list than it's worth. My personal nemesis is a guy who identifies himself as Jim Harris of some carpet and linoleum cleaner. I have reported him to every agency I can think of for more than TWO YEARS and he continues to call, sometimes two or three times a day. The DNC list is a hoax because a) those who wrote the legislation exempted themselves and b) there is NO effective agency in place to investigate, indict, and prosecute these scammers. Have fun with your blocker, but what it needs to do is fire back about 10,000 volts into the robo machine and blow it up. Of course that's against the law...but then again so are unwanted phone solicitors.
