So grateful for caller ID and Voicemail. If I don't recognize the number they can leave a message. If they don't leave a message, then it wasn't meant to be or important. These loser's are always hoping to get a human to answer the phone at which point I grow alligator arms. Just not worth the frustration or time. If no one answered.... maybe they'd would go away.
This person calls every single day asking for the Chief. When I ask to take a message, he hangs up on me. So, from now until eternity the Chief will be "in a meeting".
When you call the number back it rings for a while, then a message plays advising the purpose of the call is sales and to be removed from the list, simply leave your company name, phone number and the time you called and you will be removed within 72 hours. You're then wished a "wonderful day" and the voice mail system tells you the mailbox is full and can not accept any more messages. SIGH.
I've been doing the exact same thing to telemarketers for years. Even if he is in the room with me he is still "not available" and never will be. Most of the time they hang up, sometimes they get nasty with me.
