'Nat'(?) called today from 'Corey Hicks & Associates' asked for the boss by name. I asked what it was in reference to, and he said: 'Although I'd love to discuss this with you because you are on the phone, I 'd like to speak with (boss' name) directly. Does SHE have voice mail?' THE BOSS IS A MALE, so I knew it was a scam. I answered, "If you don't tell me what it's in reference to, you won't get through." And I hung up the phone.
HE CALLED BACK and said, "Is that how you act when you don't get your way?"
I HUNG UP AGAIN.
I recognized the firm's name from prior disrespectful pigs who have called in the past.
When I read all these post I was underlie amazed at what I read! I too have received endless phone calls from these scum begs threatening to sue me for over a quarter of a million dollars!
Back in 2008 Our company called them to find out what there fees were for there Services.
Cory Hicks said the fees would be based off the information that we send them!! And they couldn’t quote us a price unless they had information to go off of!
We sent them over the Invoices that we where trying to collect and again asked them what there fees would be!
With in 2 hours of sending them the information they told us we were under contract and that if we tried to cancel they would sue us and charge a 10% cancelation fee?
2 years later i am still receiving the same threatening phone calls. He has recently file suit against our company and I have to say I am looking forward to it! If you would like to be part of a class action law suit please let me know! I have a team of attorneys ready to eat these guys up! This is extortion and embezzlement at its best and these guys will be locked up!
I actually unplugged my phone for 2 weeks to avoid this jerk. Yesterday he called again. I asked for proof in writing. He offered to fax or email the contracts I allegedly signed, but I wanted him to mail it. He says they never send by mail because it takes too long. Is there some reason that the company won't send anything through the USPS? Perhaps because of the stiff laws about fraud or something when you send it through the mail? My problem is that this is a debt I incurred through my business and apparently the rules of the FDCPA don't protect small business owners. The original creditor was our local radio station and its starting to look like they prey upon naive new business owners who don't have the power to fight their debt collectors and just cave in.
I have several voice mails, e-mails, etc. from Luke Black (a true psychopath), and would love to join in if anyone here finds out a way to persue justice with these crooks.
He has been screaming, cursing and threatening to sue me for debt that my former employer owes. You read that right. The company that I used to be employed by owes debt, and this guy wants to threaten to sue ME. The last I checked, an employee cannot be held responsible for the debt of a corporation, especially an employee who was neither an owner or an officer.
Please leave a message if you or anyone you know can do anything about this. I am tired of being harrassed, and I don't know what to do about it.
