I RECEIVED A CALL FROM 951-223-6693 informing me that IRS is investigating me and I should immediately call Kevin Peterson at 530 377 6497. Call was made early in the morning, which made me suspicious. I searched web for both these numbers and founf them to be scams.
The Indian sounding man called himself "Robert Parker" and said he was calling on behalf of the IRS and even gave me an employee number, RPP1006372. He was very difficult to understand. We have some tax issues so I thought maybe it was legit but had doubts as usually everything is by mail. He said I should call the number back in 10 minutes as the man that could resolve this, "Michael Johnson" was on another call. He would not give me the year of the tax problem he was referring to (red flag) and said it was some kind of error on our part and we could resolve it by calling back to the number. This was yesterday. Early this morning he called back and was very aggressive asking if I had called back the number. I said no because I wanted to contact my accountant first. Which, by the way I did. He asked if I had an attorney, which I said no, and that since I did not call back yesterday they were coming after us with lawsuits and judgements and that I must call back in the next 10 minutes. I had felt this was possibly a scam when he called yesterday but did not have time to research the number. After this mornings aggressive call I called back the number he gave to see what would happen. It just clicked, no anwer or ringing. I googled and found this site. BTW, the tiger from the Indian zoo in the movie "Life of Pi" is named Robert Parker. LOL!

My mom received a phone call this morning from a man with a very thick indian accent. He told her she owed $6000 to the IRS, but could start paying in little payments to stop legal actions. She knows she owes no money, so she was immdietly suspicious. Just don't call back, he's desperate for money.
This #, according to link from someone above, belongs to a company called 01 Communications in Cottonwood CA. The one thing most of us have in common is that we have had some issues with IRS. Ours was several years ago but there must be something in IRS data base that this guy is able to tap. Scary.
