I RECEIVED A CALL FROM 951-223-6693 informing me that IRS is investigating me and I should immediately call Kevin Peterson at 530 377 6497. Call was made early in the morning, which made me suspicious. I searched web for both these numbers and founf them to be scams.
Individual with heavy indian accent called from 530-377-6497 and said will be arrested if i don't pay for delinquent taxes, my nephew called them back and set them straight. This is a major scam, they call from somewhere in India from a VOIP line registerd with bandwidth.com CLEC, LLC
A female with an american name and Indian accent called from Cottonwood Ca asking me to call officer from IRS Michael Johnson to settle some issues . When asked further questions she hung up.
I have received several messages from 530-377-6497 from a man with a very heavy accent you can barely understand. He threatens that if my attorney of record or I do not call back I will be jailed. He says he is from the IRS. You can not return the call because when you do they just answer and hang up. I hope he gets me as I will NOT take this bull and will let him know with everything I can I will try to stop them from taking unsuspecting people. This is a complete SCAM do not fall for it NEVER give out any info and if you really thought this was IRS call the real IRS direct. The irony is that my husband is an IRS specialist so I know for sure this is NOT how they operate. What we should all be wondering is how they are getting our numbers.
Same Issue, Called my elderly Mom and Dad 7:00 AM on a Sataurday three times within 10 minutes, Woman Heavy accent, Demanded Information. My Mom, who owes Nothing to anyone blew it off. Don't know why she answered the phone the other two times, that is a no no, just let it ring.
I answered my mom's phone around 8:15am on Mon., Dec. 16, 2013, and spoke with a man with a heavy East Indian accent. He said he was John Williams with the Investigative Bureau of the IRS and that he had to speak with my Mom as soon as possible. I told her that she was not available. He said that she had to call him back as soon as possible at 530-377-6497 regarding income tax issues. My Mom does have a current case that is currently being reviewed by the IRS, and we thought that this John Williams was calling about that. When I asked him what area code was 503, he said that it was from California, which would have meant that it was 5:15am in their time zone. My Mom also has a unlisted phone number. When we phoned him back two times, there was a one-ring tone and we could not leave a message. I was curious about this phone call and Googled it and found this blog. I also reported this call to the Department of Treasury.
