I just got a call from this same "Jim" yesterday in response to a vehicle I listed on craigslist. Didn't seem too strange since it was a VA number and I am in SE PA. When I called back, "Jim" wasn't in the office. I spoke with a barely understandable Indian fellow who told me the person who was interested in my vehicle has already been satisfied, but he will call me back if they get another client with similar interests. Sounded weird to me, but I said OK. Now I look it up and find this... I am a bit worried.
let's bust these guys how do we do it.....i am home not feeling well and a jim leaves a message about the things i have for sale on craigs list...then i get up and call back the 540-400-6701 number and it reverses to albright appraisals in virginia and by the way i use whitepages.com to reverse the phone number....this is the ripp you of scammer for sure how do we contact the police about this? let's get them
Yeah the thing is, i dont know exactly how he plans on trying to scam me. I've been playing along to the whole thing...so far. How does he plan on trying to get a free car or my money?
Yes, "how" is the question. THe guy I talked to kept saying that their service was free to me -- their clients pay the finder's fee. It really doesn't make much sense. I have been on the receiving end of plenty of B2B scams in the corporate world, and the ruse is usually pretty obvious from the beginning, if you are paying attention. But this is nothing like that.
