I spoke with the Indian gentleman and he told me the name of his company is Adventis Inc.  Here is the website: http://www.adventisinc.com.  Like some other posters here I am not convinced it is a scam, but I am not interested in selling to anyone out-of-state.  It is also alarming that when you google the number you get several listings: appraisal services, Serendipity Investments and Richard Duff.  Please let me know if anyone completes a transaction with them.

"Jim" Called about a vehicle I was selling on Autotrader.com. I called "Jim" right back, after many rings and maybe a phone transfer of some sort, a foreign sounding person said he was not in and that she could help.  She wanted the phone number that was in the add, the year, make, and model of the vehicle.  Then offered to email me contact information or would give me the email address of the interested party for me to contact. I chose the second... she gave me the address of [email protected].  My guess is this is an email harvesting scam of a spammer....but who knows???

Just got a call from "Jim."  I returned the call cautiously. . . no answer, Googled and got this, hope I can jerk their chain if I get another call.  White pages listed as Albright Appraisals.  I listed my vehicle on Craigs List in New York and the Want Ad Digest.  I received a call from a similar company, but their message was straightforward, not trying to sound like an interested buyer . . . hope someone gets to have some fun with them.
