I also recieved several calls from Capital Accounts from the 606, 903 and a few other area codes. The first time I was called, I was asked if I knew someone (that someone was my daughter). I asked what the call was about, he said your name and number are listed as an emergency contact number. Well, I flipped out thinking that something terrible happened to my daughter. I was crying and asking where she was and was she okay, (I suffer from anxiety and paniac disorder and take meds twice a day). Then the dude has the gall to say, no we are trying to collect a debt from her. I was like WTF you call me because I am listed as an emergency contact get me all upset, then tell me its to collect a debt. He never apologized, but continued on wanting to get my daughters information. Well if they had my infor as a contact then they also had to have her infor. I have received several calls from them with dead air messages, or someone else asking if I knew my daughter. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got no where. From reading all the other blogs on this company I am going to read up on the FDCPA laws.
Try calling your cell company explain what is happening and ask them to block the number. I have done this in the past using Verizon. They did it for free for me. Best of luck.
They told me they were a company called Coast to Coast renewals. There actually is a magazine company called Coast to Coast in Minnesota, and they have received numerous complaints about this company, they are not affiliated with Coast to Coast renewals. I am going to post the number on fb hoping if it gets out there and the government will do something about this scam.
