I also got a call from this rude thieves. I have reported their number to the FTC. Please take 5 minutes and report them. It is the only way to get rid of them. !!!!!
Same story!!!! The guy on the phone asked for ex-employee from our company, and he said that employee signed up for the online listing. He can only remove our company from the list after I agree to pay $829 invoice from 2011. He threats me that if we are going to fight for this invoice, his company will win for sure.
Actually, no, they can't report you to the credit bureau - this is an attempt to extort money from people. Also, even if he claims you have a "verbal" contract, that would not stand up in court. The guy is a scammer. Report the call to the FTC and your state's Attorney General.
Received calls from this moron in the past. Says his name is "Cody". Caller ID has this number and "unknown". Almost whispered and I had to keep asking him to repeat himself. Wanted to speak with the business owner (whom he addressed by his first name like he knew him) and when I asked what it was regarding, he said "the closing of his account". I asked "does he have a current account with you and what is the name of it?" Then he said, I just want to inform him we are closing his account... well if he's not available, I can call back. I said that he wouldn't take call anyway later on if he doesn't have some basic info about caller, company, etc. Long pause and then hang up.
Rude man, mumbled something about calling to close. I said, close on what? He stated to close on NBA or MBA ?????? Not sure. So I asked again what was the reason of ethics call to my business. He responded as thought I was mentally deficient.... I.... Said.... I'm....calling... To...., you get the idea. I interrupted his childish behavior, and told him, not to talk to me like I'm an idiot unable to determine if I do business with his company, I was not currently conducting business with his company and therefor had nothing to close on. He responded with... Are you sure? I hung up.
