Rcvd SCAM call at 1:56p ET, from an unidentified (Lower Interest) Name using a spoofed number 616-613-2100 asigned to Zeeland, MI. This is a total SCAM call trying to obtain your information. Do Not answer the phone. I too use a Digitone Call Blocker from Digitone Communications, so all unwanted & toll numbers are block so my phone never rings during these unidentified / unwanted calls. This unit allows you to block any area code in whole. This area code is blocked from ringing my personal number without leaving any unwanted message.
Filed online complaint with the FTC and FCC site to help put a stop to these types of unwanted calls. This allows all Federal and State agencies to search and provide what additional information is reported to these government sites to track this Scam
Card Services called again today, like they do everyday. I pressed '1' to speak to the rep and waste their time. This time the guy claimed ****THEY WERE THE FBI****
Same recorded message... Financial Stimulus Package
Do not respond in any way. Don't bother calling it back, some numbers are registered in the Bahamas and can charge your phone bill upto $2500/min. if you call it.
It is not that the Do Not Call registry people are not doing their job. The way their system works was flawed since it started. It's a list of real people who don't want scammers calling them. The scammers just download the list and put it into their robo-dialer software.
These calls are dialed by computer over IP#. This software sends fake caller ID#s, which is a crime. Also since the caller id is fake, their is no point in connecting the number to a state.
So do not call the scammer back, it won't be them, but in most cases some victim just like you.
Their crime is so high-tech, they think they are unstopable.
The FTC knows all about these unwanted calls. Just get the info and report the: date, their number, and a short mess of what they said.
