Rcvd SCAM call at 1:56p ET, from an unidentified (Lower Interest) Name using a spoofed number 616-613-2100 asigned to Zeeland, MI. This is a total SCAM call trying to obtain your information. Do Not answer the phone. I too use a Digitone Call Blocker from Digitone Communications, so all unwanted & toll numbers are block so my phone never rings during these unidentified / unwanted calls. This unit allows you to block any area code in whole. This area code is blocked from ringing my personal number without leaving any unwanted message.
Filed online complaint with the FTC and FCC site to help put a stop to these types of unwanted calls. This allows all Federal and State agencies to search and provide what additional information is reported to these government sites to track this Scam
They are in John Conyers home state. According to John Conyers (D-Nazigan) "They are not illegal, just out of status" Do forward all Nazigan area codes to Mr. John Conyers office!!! Forget Digitone, get Callcentric!!!
I believe these people actually get paid to press numbers to make phone calls, so much per number that rings. I'm wondering if this site is actually any good for reporting this problem, or the telemarketers so fast at getting new numbers that they can't be caught?
The number you see in caller ID is fake. It doesn't even need to be real. That is why it is called "spoofing". They could have the software dial 10,000 calls and have each call show a different ID#.
Sending fake caller ID#s is a crime. If they were put on trial just for using fake caller ID numbers,
they could probably be put away for good, since each call counts as a separate violation.
There are a number of real laws being broken by these people..
Wire fraud (misrepresenting themselves to obtain information which can be used to steal money)
Interstate trafficing of stolen items (credit card numbers)
Caller ID spoofing
Causing other incidental damages to unwilling victims(when we use *69 everytime they call us)
Calling people on the DNC list
Remember, the people calling you are carreer criminals/scammers. Don't bother asking to be removed.
They took your number right off the DNC list just to get a real person (to scam).
We dont need to go down rabbit trails of conspiracy and incompetence.
Please focus on the facts, so that we can actually get them put away.
This is for Card Services - they are a telemarketer. I am already on the National DO NOT CALL list too. So they are supposed to have stopped calling me, but this is the first time in about a month or so that they still call. Also these people DO NOT take your name off the DO NOT CALL list, like Brian said in response to A Kam. They do this at random to call people.
Your best defense is to report them to the FTC's DO NOT CALL list website and file a complaint.
