This is still going on but looks like they got a new number a week ago and then again today i got a call from this number 763-201-9001saying the same as you have all said above to call richard blackburn. I just hung up both times ....but in the process of searching for answers cause it just didn't seem right I found this and wanted to give a heads up on the number change.
A man called my grandparents home phone stating that he needed to get ahold of me about a legal matter. My grandma called me and gave me the info I called the person back and he said his same was Mr. Callahan and that in 2004 a credit card was opened in my name but now that I see your birth year I see u were 13 at the time. He has the amount due was over 3000 but if I paid today he would get it down to 1000. I told him I wasn't paying anything! I said was haven't I gotten a bill or why hasent anything posted on my credit.......he said sometimes they don't post right away I said ok but 9 years laster he said well ur legally able to stand trail now I said I was legal 3 years ago why now? he said it was my responsibility to pay it and then find out my self who stole my identity. Again I told him I wasn't paying anything and that I needed to make some phone calls he told me I had 3 hours to call him back. when I looked up the number I found this site and sure thing it was a scam I called back and told the women that answered because of course Mr. Callahan was busy. I told he I know this is a scam and hung up after some choice words. I thought it was all over till today he called my grandma back and said he had new info he had to talk to me. I called back and started asking where was this card opened what state? he said I told have to answer anything I said yes u do this is reguarding me why cant u answer my questions he demanded my address and still would not answer anything and hung up. the name came up on my grandmas caller id by the name of DUSTIN COHLE......I also called back and asked to speak with a Richard Blackburn and he said he wasn't available....has anyone heard from a Callahan?
same thing. obviously a scam. I was a victim of ID theft about 6 months ago. I suspect that it is related and that was how they got my phone number. I will turn the threat over to the FBI and the FCC. the number showed on my caller ID as 616-920-9168
Same call yesterday as above, any legit business would provide all of the information regarding the company and also not give you a heads up to pay first. Scam written all over it.
