Rec'd call from different numbers stating they were from Legal Mitiation Solutions and to call back Richard Blackburn. They gave me case number and when I spoke with "James Powell" who stated I had 24 hrs to act otherwise I will be served by mail to garnish my wages. Stated I had an account with HSBC from 2001. So if I owed anything, why till 14 yrs later to tell me? He was smart butt about it too and said you did receive notification. I said if I did, I would have taken care of it. He said a one time settlement can be done today. I told him to send me email on it and he said he would mail me the service notice as well. The frightening part was that he had my date of birth, address, and last 4 ssn. When I look back at all my call logs and I look up the numbers or try calling it back, they are from the same company but the numbers are one in GA, IN, LA, MI and other states, sounds too fishy. 317-401-8298, 225-325-3887, 800-538-2361 (that was the number they told me to call back but it was disconnected). From other comments here, they change numbers frequently. I'll be reporting this to the BBB and attorney general.

I also received this call, but I'm somewhat of a legal expert... That being said.. never respond to these type of calls... The reason being, they can record you, and whatever you say will be used in court of law... even if you it's not a legit claim.  The only time you really have to worry about dealing with a lawsuit is when someone comes to your house and serves you an official complaint... Then you might have to worry about filing an answer.  If you file a answer, the plaintiff will probably not show up for court because they know their scheme will be uncovered and they could face fraud charges.  SO... BOTTOM LINE... DISREGARD ALL PHONE CALLS, DON'T SAY ANYTHING, AND HANG UP.. A real lawsuit has to be served to you in person.  If this happens, then you will either have to have money for an attorney, or know how to answer answer (maybe hire a paralegal), or have a service call LegalShield.   LegalShield is legal insurance that can cover your legal fees in case you are ever sued.  If you like this option, feel free to call me David Chavez @ 616-799-4374, and I will show you how you can get this for around $20 a month.

These people are trying to get your personal information then steal your identity.  They use different voip disposible #s to hide their identities.  DO NOT CALL THE # THEY GIVE YOU AND NEVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFO OVER THE PHONE SUCH AS: YOUR DATE OF BIRTH, AND SOCIAL SECURITY #.  The only time you have to worry about being sued is when you are actually physically served with a summons at your home/business.  Then... you will either need the knowledge to file a Answer, Hire an attorney, or have a legal insurance such as LegalShield to take care of your pending legal problem.  LegalShield charges a small monthly fee, and when you need an attorney, all you have to do is pick up the phone, call the membership toll free #, and a attorney in the network will take it from there.  There is also a identity theft prevention/restoration service with LegalShield.  I happen to be a rep that received this call from 616-920-5168, and I am never afraid of legal problems (real or fake).  If your interested in a legal peace of mind... call me at 616-799-4374.

I have been receiving this message off and on for several months now. The first time I called back. They told me I was being sued for an old credit problem. I informed them that I had paid the creditor in full. They put me on hold for about 15 seconds, came back on the line and told me they had terrible news for me: "You paid more than you owed, and you were scammed. The creditor never received your payment." When I told them I was going to call the creditor myself, and file a police report, they hung up.
