Started getting these calls recently. Usually I don't answer calls I don't recognize. They asked for someone with same last name as mine but first name was not. I told them no one by that name lives here. They read my number to me and asked if it was my number. I confirmed it was and they said,"OK, we will remove your number from our list. I am disabled and owe no one money. Even if I did, judges don't garnish Social Security Disability Checks.
This is the Do Not Call Registry. Go to this site and enter the numbers you are being bugged by. By the way the company that is call all of us right now is https://www.ccsusa.com/ccsnotice/index.ihtml
Enter all the number from them that they call from and lets get the Government involved everyone. Screw these people.
These are just a couple of the numbers they try to contact you from: 617-581-1049 877.870.1000.
Also the people that wrote the note up on the top of this web site are try to get you to get in touch with them as they also work for the JERKS>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gessenia you know who you really are and do not try to think that we are all a bunch of puttz's.
I also have absolutely no debts whats so ever. I am retired and disabled and would love it if they would stop. Also I talked to Vonage and they are trying to get setup a program that r I can block any and I mean any calls I wish. When that happens I'll have better piece of mind. I do not understand how just anyone can say that you owe money then they can try and harass you by phone and mail. I just throw the mail away they can't prove that I even received it. When you get one by signed receipt then you need to worry. Ha ha.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free.
Scammers have been making phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry. These calls are not coming from the Registry or the Federal Trade Commission, and you should not respond to these calls. To add your number to the Registry you can call 888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to register, or go click on “Register a Phone Number” in the left column of this page.
Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.
