called from this number telling me this is a time sensitive matter they have a warrant out for my arrest 3 counts i will be arressted to call them back.
called telling me that this matter is time sensitive and a warrant for my address will be put out if i dont call them back right away it was an indian guy .said i will be arrested they had 3 counts felony charges against me.
Received the exact same call stating that I needed to pay $100 that day...or I would have an arrest warrant issued against me....i of course freak out....im the single mother of 2 under 2 had only jus started workin again and had $0 every penny I do get goes to my children or bills and I'm finally starting to get on my feet again so I jus broke down....what was really scary was wen I hadn't called back in the time frame agreed upon somehow they had been able to use the number to the police department in my city...but I knew it couldn't possibly have been true BC they give u no warning of a possible arrest they jus do it and like I said I had his started working and had his had a background check....any pending criminal case would also have shown on my background....im livid about this situation...i have 2daughters that need their mother and I dont have the time to break down like I did....these sry sobs need to be punished to the highest extent (another give away that it wasn't truly my local police department is that their is no foreign police officers or workers in my station and it was obvious that he was foreign via accent)the initial person from "the law offices"(which is wat he actually stated is his place of employment)was named NICK JOHNSON
You can easily check this by going to your local police station and telling them what happened. This is a common scam that originates in India. There is nothing random about these calls. They have all your financial information and some personal information. They pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community. They are looking for vulnerable people.
Rule: If you receive a cold call for anyone with an Indian accent either 1. Offering you something, or 2. threatening you, then you know it's a scam and you should hang up immediately.
They just called me and I don't answer my phone for unknown numbers, When they sound like there not for the USA, they are scammers. I put them under the do not call list.
