I received very similar phone calls. I finally spoke to a very rude & nasty young lady. She had the last 4 digits of my social & She told me it was something dealing with citi bank through a 3rd party dealing with a credit card balance before 2010! She said they attempted to contact me through the mail & gave me my previous address & my current address! She said the phone call was the last attempt & they were going to send the Sheriff out to serve me papers. She asked if I still worked at a restaurant I was working at & said they were going to garnishing my wages. I told her I wanted to dispute & she said I had to dispute with court & she said she was going to stop the sheriff from coming out & resend the mail but didn't ask which address.
That's what confused me also, I never received anything on my credit! I mentioned that to her & she said it there's no statue of limitations on debt! So since it's not on my credit I felt it was not right.
They've called 3 times now... called back yesterday left a threatening message about hunting them down and shooting them in the streets if they didn't take me off their call list. Rat [***] called back again today. I called and spoke with a woman who claims they are not a collection agency. I was pretty angry, told her they better not call my work, that there's no pending legal action against me as she claims, and that they are required to serve me in person, so eff off. Told her to take me off her call list, and she came back with "I don't have to do anything!" and then told me to show up in court and then hung up on me. How did you get them to stop calling???
They left me a message saying that I'll have to go to court for some unpaid bill, then I get an account number and ended the message with "you have been officially notified " Just ignore it bunch of clowns..
