This happened to me yesterday he was nice to me the he asked me to fax a note about this loan so I called cash net USA and got a e mail from them saying I do not owe any money to them that it is a scam but let me tell u he did scare me so today I went to the police department and let them read all the e mails with cash net USA and the voice mail from Daniel today and I called the fib and turned him so if the cops do come I have everything in hand
Called and said his name was Ryan Smith from James Patterson Law Firm and wanted me to call back about a law suit against me. But the phone number he gave was the same one he was calling from 661-243-3215 so I just hung up.
Wow I rec'd the same phone call 9 times between yesterday and today stating his name was Daniel from James Madison or James Patterson Law Firm. His accent was very thick possibly Indian. He told me that American Cash Net has filed a law suit against me and something about court papers, attorney, and fees/fines. I told him that I would wait to get the court papers and that if he called me again I would report him for fraud and that the business I supposedly owe money too doesn't exist. All he had was my address, couldn't even provide me with my SSN or DOB. This isn't the first time this crap has happened but once you get them at their own game they quit calling.
The guy said they had forwarded papers to the police station in the town where I live, he even gave me the address. What he didn't know is that local police don't serve paper, on the County Sheriff's department does. Another inconsistency was that they had "forwarded the papers to the police", yet if I call them back I can pay them off today and it would magically be as tho the papers were never at the police station...hmmm... In the real world, it doesn't work that way, once papers are filed it's up to the courts to decide if a person has to pay and how much. So many things wrong with the scam!
Received vm Michael Smith representing James Madison Law Firm. Said lawsuit against my name and ssn.
- I've rcvd nothing in the mail
- this is a scam
- they cannot threaten you
- they must identify themselves as a debt collector
- don't speak to them or return their call
- they'd have to send you notification via mail - if they send you fake documents by usps it is a felony
- put a fraud alert with all three credit bureaus
- don't PAY anything
- block their number
I get one call like this everyday. I'd love for someone to catch these idiots.
