I'm the first? Well, surely won't be the last. I just received (on my Do-Not-Call state and national listed mobile phone) a call, robo-initiated, the recording which I hung up on saying in a cheerful voice, "Hi, this is Sherrie from Google Advertising". The Caller ID did not mention Google or Sherrie, but a deception: call from the (something) area - maybe Plainview or something similar, with which I'm totally unfamiliar. Weirdly, after blocking and reporting this number as a do-not-call violator (Google being about as big and bad as it gets!), the caller ID no longer displayed the first id (location) but simply says "mobile". They've got great technology, horrid ethics at Google (especially, you'd think, from the "don't do evil" company!) Spam!!
I received a call from this number a few times ("Sherry from Google") but I usually ignore it. Today I decided to press 1 and then 2 to speak to someone to see who it was and a lady answered and asked for my name. I said "you're calling me" (as in you should know my name) and I asked what the call was in regards to and she disconnected the immediately. Definitely spam and not Google, so ignore this call if you get it.
