I also got the same thing when I called back - number not in service. I knew then it was a scam. I did not answer the first time, all my voicemail caught was a recorded message something about Security Deposit, but they probably meant Department . Lmao !
This is in fact a scam, almost just got my boyfriend, but we called master card immediately following the call and had his account locked and issued a new card. He believed it because of recent online purchases he had made, and this was his first time using this card. We hope this helps anyone else from falling for this scam. If this does happen to you, call the customer service number on the back of your card, and if there is no option to speak to a representative, enter your card number or social security number INCORRECT, and it will eventually transfer you to an actual person.
I got a call saying that "they regret to inform me" my MasterCard debit card has been locked, and to press 1 to unlock it. I don't even have a MasterCard.
I received a call from (661) 695-5199 saying my debit card had been locked and to press "1" to unlock it. From the Palmdale Area. Incredibly frustrating.
