male with a strong indian (india) accent said to call this number so matter would not be reported to the IRS. and hung up. Tried calling this number back and machine answered saying mailbox was full so I was unable to leave a message requesting that they do not call me again.
I got a disturbing call this morning from IRS claiming they have a lawsuit against me and was told that I will be arrested by local police today. I made the guy with heavy accent very angry by simple request to put everything in writing and unwillingness to discuss anything over the phone. Scam!!!
Just got a call from foreign sounding woman. Said she was from the IRS. Wanted to know the name of my attorney since I had someone file a lawsuit against me. It was a poor connection and her accent made it hard to understand her. I kept asking her to repeat herself. Then she asked me if I was *another name* and when I said "no", she hung up.
Could barely hear this guy when he called today. I know how the IRS operates. Not like that. Be careful and always withhold any information on phone calls that come in which are unexpected. I feel sorry for the old timers or others who fall for this. He probably wants social security # and all the other goodies if you give them the time to try to scam that out of you.
Got 2 voicemail messages from this guy this afternoon saying "you" have been reported for a legal notice, please call me before you are arrested. This, of course, makes absolutely no sense. It's not how real legal issues are handled. Obviously a scam/con job. We just deleted the voicemails and will block this caller if we get more calls.
