Called my elderly father first thing this morning and said to call back today, or they will issue a warrant for arrest.

Came up as "WITS3" on Caller ID.

What a Joke! Claiming to be from IRS, (by the way the call would be displayed as Internal Revenue Service and not IRS) and I have a serious claim against me and a warrant will be issued for my arrest if I do not call back immediately. The accent was middle eastern and heavy. I am tempted to call back and play the game stating I am on the run what should I do? LOL

This number left a voice mail - Called to tell me that I have been accused of tax fraud and that a warrant will be issued. They claimed to be from the IRS with a HEAVY Indian accent.

Same scam.  Heavy Indian accent.

"We have your social security number.  Unless you call us back, you will be sued today in Federal Claims Court."

Blah blah blah.

Jerks.

I was called a few minutes ago. Sure sounds like a scam to me. I answered but did not say anything...simply hung up. Caller asked me to call back but I did not catch the number I was supposed to call back to.

Interesting note: Number that shows up via caller ID was legit...703-756-6663 is the number for the local IRS office in Crossroads, VA. I guess there is a way to spoof phone numbers these days.
