Same call received on cell as others from "IRS". Heavy Indian accent. Tax fraud filed against me and a lawsuit is pending. Call 703-436-5027. A Nonbailable arrest warrant is issued. Glad to be able and google the phone number and find that others have experienced this scam.

Same as above.... Indian caller asking if I have hired my attorney to represent me in an IRS issue I was facing. I hung up on him and he called me back right away just furious at me for hanging up on an IRS agent. I hung up again. SCAM! I can see how a naive person could be intimidated by this!!!
Received a call from 703-756-6663 today. Didn't get the name - he went into his whole spiel right off the bat that I owed just a few thousand dollars. I advised I had not received any notices from the IRS. He said that they had sent them and now it was too late to pay and I was going to be taken to court and will lost and have to pay $70,000 after the fact. They also said someone showed up to my house twice and left notices on the door and provided an agent name and badge number (see below). He kept asking how I was going to take care of it and I kept saying I don't know because I need more information as to what my options are. I got transferred to a Manager of Treasury something. The guy ended up hanging up on me. At first I thought this was real because they didn't ask me for payment over the phone - YET. But, after the fact, I think they didn't because I kept asking for proof.

SCAM ALERT!
We had this call from 703-756-6663 to a former wired land line that is now a cell phone. There was a woman on the other end. The young person answering the call thought it might possibly be the IRS and very important. I told the family member it was a scam and to hang up.
I develop software for federal tax record-keeping. I've met with IRS auditors in my line of work, been to their offices in the Federal Building, negotiated tax settlements and offers-in-compromise.
#1 - The IRS will NEVER CALL YOU! Period. Even if you have been to the local IRS office to address an important settlement, or their auditor has an appointment with you to visit your business, they NEVER CALL OUT! Never.
#2 - Don't tell these people ANYTHING. They will literally take a crumb of information and trade it with other scammers who will then descend on you like locusts and piranhas.
Don't say, "Well we had a tax problem a few years ago, but I'm sure my spouse paid it off." or "We mailed out check last week." or "We're still expecting a refund for last year." Those sound innocent but here's what happens. Someone else calls back from "The IRS" and will say, "Your refund was mailed to the wrong address. Where should we send it?" or "Your money was deposited in my account. You must have made a typo filiing your taxes, your account must be 1 digit off from mine. Could you verify your account number so we can clear this up?" Don't those sound helpful?
