I got another call from them. I expect there will be more. The FTC will take complaints but needs lots of complaints to take action. I normally complain on-line (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2) but you can call the FTC "live" number, 1-877-382-4357. I suggest as many people as possible file complaints (use the "live" number; tying up their lines may get their attention). Also complain to the North Carolina State's Attorney General's Office. Call and request the form be mailed to you (again it costs the state of NC). By the way, the DNC is supposed to be enforced by local law enforcement so lots of complaints to the State's Attorney General Office (in this case NC) should also get their attention. If I continue to get calls from NC, I intend to send complaints to the local media when the State's Attorney General is up for re-election documenting his failure to enforce the DNC list in NC.
Hi...I just received a call from this number and traced it. It is a scammer, as evidenced by a suggestion to notify law enforcement, which you did (and I am about to do). They most likely have only your phone number and many thousands more. These scammers evidently have no regard for the Do Not Call Law and those laws pertaining to recorded calls. Although this company most likely has no information other than your phone number, it would still be a good idea to check your credit card statements for unauthorized charges and periodically review your credit scores to be on the safe side.
Just got a call from this number. I waited to speak to a person and when a man answered told me no they wouldn't take me off of their list. I just reported to the FTC. Hopefully they help stop these calls.
She told me to call my state attorney general office because there is an ongoing investigation about this.
The Attorney Generals office in NJ is 1-800-242-5846. The FTC will give you a reference number to give them.
