it was Automated "Barbara" from Account services trying to help lower my credit card rates. Problem was it was a man's voice. HAHAHA
Yes there is a place to report. Go to https://www.donotcall.gov/ then register. After you are on the list for 30 days you can report most people who call you and they can get fined. First Register, then verify. Once 30 days is passed you are able to submit a complaint on the same page. Only way we can stop this kinda stuff is if we are consistent and report them. The government will only take notice if we band together.
got robocall from 712-455-8402 caller ID said "WHITING.....IA" on Friday 04-043-14 @ 916AM.
Message with a males voice saying his name was BARABARA from Card Services........
Are these SCAMMERS serious ?!?!?........at end of message says "pressed 1" and I did.
But when it switched to get a "representative" all I got was "dead air" hold with the time on
my portable phone still increasing so just hung up.
Of course you know the SCAMMERS will call back.
Started blocking entire area codes. Generally speaking most of us don't need to receive calls from Maine when we live in California. Blocking specific phone number is pointless, there are about 7.91 Million numbers available per area code.
Telemarketers will run out of area codes before they run out of numbers.
Following area codes blocked:
202,203,229,256,270,301
303,304,334,337,406,416
425,501,503,507,517,620,
631,678,701,712,718,719
726,731,763,765,840,850
860,918
I would like to get a more comprehensive listing to add additional area codes. If it comes down to blocking all of them but a few I'll do it. If that doesn't solve the issue then a blanket block all calls and start white listing specific numbers.
I agree. They always hang up when you ask them to not call anymore. This number calls me all the time. The federal do not call list for landline and cell numbers obviously dont work. Very irritated st this point.
