My caller ID showed it was from the U S Government.
I tried calling that number several times only to get a recorded message which said your call did not go through.
Please try again.
It is legit. I am doing a retirement claim and this number called me. I called the main social security and they said yes, someone from social security called me today, so it's a big load off my mind, lol. This is a legit number
They called 5 times today before I decided to finally answer.
I was told it was from the social security office out of New York and was asked to verify my home address.
The CID was displayed as U S GOVERNMENT with the phone # of 718-557-3000.
The guy was way to happy go lucky and told me that this was not a telemarketer, like I was going to believe that.
He asked me if I was sitting down, and that’s when I really became suspicious.
Keep in mind that I have been waiting for a while for my back pay from SSDI so I felt that I should listen to what he had to say.
Then he started to tell me way more information then any telemarketer/scammer should or would know.
Information like how much my back pay would be, who represented me, what my monthly check would be and how much I would be paying for Medicare.
If this is a SCAM, then there is a major problem with the system.
Going to call Social Security and the company who represented me tomorrow and will post the results.
I am praying that this is legit.
This call was from the Social Security Payment Center in New York.
Now I am just waiting for the long waited for check.
Hope this info has been of help to all.
