Have received calls from this number on several occasion say that they are with Windows. THIS IS A SCAM. They try to gain remote access of your computer to hack your information. They tell you that they are getting error reports from your computer and need remote access to fix it. DON'T DO IT. Windows is a Microsoft product and; after a chat with Microsoft corporate; understand they Microsoft will NEVER INITIATE contact with you unless you specifically request contact. BLOCK THIS NUMBER! Also they have called back within minutes with a call that has no caller ID. It's the same demons.
Same thing here....he wanted me to hold down the windows button and the letter R at the same time. He asked what does my screen show? I said the same exact thing....which I lied. Then I told him to remove my number from his list and he said that would cost me $69.99. I said send me a bill.
This is the second time I have answered this call. Always a guy with a thick accent. He does have my email address and name. This time he said his name was Peter Johnson. He said I have a windows computer that has a malicious virus. It was hard to understand him completely. The first time I said I have a mac and he hung up. This time I said I have a mac and he said that doesn't matter you still use the same server right. I told him I do not have internet at home, which is the truth. I wanted to waste his time. I will have to call you back because I am not at home right now. He told me I cant and he needed to call me. He is going to call me back tonight.
some Indian lady called me and told me to get near my computer because it keeps sending warning messages. When I I asked when the last warning message was she said " uhhhh uhhhh two weeks ago". My boss came in and I had to get off the phone. If they call back I'm going to [***] with them.
Received two calls today from that number. The callers were East Indian, Pakistani, or from a similar region and identified themselves as being from Microsoft Technical Support. They are definitely not from Microsoft. We have never requested any such contact. On callback the number comes up as not in service.
