Person with thick accent claims to be from the U.S. Treasury and asks about an issue with taxes (for me, it was 2010 tax year). She gave a name and badge number. When I stated I had not been contacted about this matter, she asked why I was lying to an officer of the government. She then stated the records show I was contacted by mail twice about the issue. When I asked about the address to which the notices were sent, she hung up.
Got a call this morning. Called back, I refused info. The woman responded with officers will be sent to your home in 45 minutes. I live on the east coast, why would Colorado call me at 8am EST?
"US TREASURY" threatening legal action. Lol. I usually like to prank them back when they call and give them bogus information to waste their time. Once they realize, they call me profanity and hang up. They called twice today and the 2nd time the gentleman named "Mike anderson" eventually said he was located in Uzbekistan once he realized i was messing with him and he called me something that i am not allowed to post...;)
Just received this call and let it go to my answering machine. The recording kept repeating over and over so i picked up and immediately hung up. Same as above - i owe money and will be indicted. Yeah, right.
