It's Best Buy. They called me because my credit card number changed, and I have the "Black Tie" insurance on my cell phone that used the old card number. They did leave me a message once, but the last time, they left no message.
BEST BUY - Calle3d them back ( 720-208-2064 ) and got them to give out a ton of information about someone that never had this number. Then I sprung it on them that I was in law enforcement and was making arrangements to take legal action. Never heard a "click" so fast in my life when them hung up.
Called them back and got a rep on the system, made a sale pitch to them and the worker almost [***] because I knew who she was - DUH she gave me her name at the beginning of the call - not the brightest people.
Going to call them a few more times but in the mean time I blocked all the calls from that number.
It is the Best Buy Protection plan. In my case it is for a Blackberry. Basically you call this number back (its all automated) and confirm your name and tell you what they need. They called and left me a message because I canceled a lost CC I had been using for the monthly payment and forgot to update it with Best Buy.
I got a call from this number and stated that the CC number they had on file had been declined. I called the number back and they stated that they did not have a CC number on file for me and would need a new one so that my protection plan would be covered. I asked if I could just go to Best Buy and take care of this and the agent stated "NO" they can not help you with this issue. I hung up and called 1800-best-buy and they stated that they all my info was correct and on file and there was no issues.
THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
