This is clearly a scam. Caller said her name was Annie Johnson. Her accent was incredibly thick, and she spoke in seriously broken English. Dept of Legal Affairs my a$$...
Call from "John Edwards" (760-335-6113, California) Relating he was from the US Treasury Legal Affairs Dept. His deep Indian accent continued to request my son and gave my address and phone number. He stated my son was to call 760-335-6113 immediately to address a legal action from the IRS for tax issues. He related that several mailings had been sent to my address and not just anyone could get the mailing. I told him I would not have my son call until I have the mailing. He replied that he would proceed with legal action today if he did not receive a call. I asked to verify his request and he stated only to call the number and speak to the person that answers. I asked his supervisor's name and he responded with "call the number immediately to address the pending legal action."
In my opinion, this is garbage and Federal tracking sood be done to catch and eliminate this type of fraud.

Just got the same call from a "John Edwards" claiming he was from the US Treasury Legal Affairs Dept and that law enforcement had initiated a legal matter against my wife. He had an Indian accent, probably the same guy (or someone sitting next to him). When I pressed for more information, he said it was in reference to an IRS matter (although he didn't seem very confident) and he said we have to call 760-225-6113 to address. It sounded like he was in a "boiler room" dialing for dollars. I called that number twice, the first time I received a message that the user voicemail wasn't set up, the second it just went into a fast busy.
I got a call from Lisa Davis at 760 666-2348. she said she was from US Treasury Legal Affairs Dept. She wanted to talk to my wife because there are some leagal affairs. I asked her the narmal stuff like "who are you and what leagal affairs". The think indian accent was a dead give away. she would give me any info. I then said wheres the certified letter? Thats the only way the treasury or IRS contacts you. She got nervous and just wanted to talk to my wife. I tiold her to get [***] and start your leagal action and hung up. I reported it to the IRS scam page but I know they are calling over seas so it wont do any good. Dont fall for this.
Person claiming to be from the IRS office of treasury, emp. #04486 Andrew Hall. He actually has a Vietnamese accent. Told me to call 760-335-6113 ext. 159. Threatened that police will be at my door tomorrow if I did not take care of my issue - not sure what "my issue" is, and he would not disclose it.
So, I called back the number - 760-335-6113 and told them I want to come by the office to pay my debt. I was told I can not do that. After additional questioning on my behalf, I got hung up on. I encourage everyone to call 760-335-6113 and tell them you want to come by to pay off your debt but need their address.
