This is clearly a scam. Caller said her name was Annie Johnson. Her accent was incredibly thick, and she spoke in seriously broken English. Dept of Legal Affairs my a$$...
My mom received a call today from a man named "Aaron Hall" 5/13/15
He had a strong Indian accent. He asked to speak with me. My mom told him I wasn't home and could take down a number so I can call him back. He said he was from the US Treasury Department legal affairs. And that I needed to call asap. When my mom asked what this is regarding he was silent and then hung up. She called me and I called "Aaron Hall" back and he answered "May I help you" I then said "who answers the phone that way working for the US Treasury Department" he then stated "what are you talking about" we went back and forth 3 Times with same question, till he finally hung up... I I already knew it was a scam I then googled the phone number and found there are so many other people that have gotten the same call from "Aaron Hall" amongst other names, with the same number..be smart people!
Yes.... said department of legal affairs and tried to tell me US Treasury Department was going to file some sort of legal action. I told him to mail me and he tried to say they had already done so. What he said he wanted was my lawyer's info. Not sure how that would have helped him? Shrug.
Same here....Andrew Hall @ 760-335-6113 Department of Legal Affairs with US Treasury. Said he had final notification of legal action that was started under our name and even suggested that we have our attorney call them for us. I DID!!! ha ha ha...and they told my attorney that it was a wrong number and that there was no Andrew Hall there. My attorney told them that if they contact his client (us) that they would receive a subpoena to appear in court because as our attorney, they would know if we were subject to any legal matters. The "Indian" hung up on my attorney.
