Although they did not leave a message, this is probably United Health Care wanting to send a nurse to your home to evaluate your health. A friend of mine did agree to this and he felt the nurse actually did give him some useful information. However, after some research, I found out the reason for this is not "out of the kindness of UNHC's heart". If you have health issues, they can charge Medicare (the Fed Go) more. I have a checkup twice a year and know the status of my health but UNHC does not get these reports. Personally, I do NOT trust insurance companies and will not permit a person to enter my home to gather health info. If they need this info, they should send documentation to me by mail and I will fill it in and take it to my physician. I not longer give out info on the phone, either. Finally, if this is a legitimate call, they need to leave a message describing what they are wanting. Otherwise, I will block the call.
I called the customer service number on the back of my card since I also worked for the phone company and as a retiree was switched to United healthcare/Medicare on January 1, 2017 and also received a call, like the others, on my cell phone, which I had indicated to be my primary number over my home phone. The young lady I spoke to did say that they do have areas that will call new clients to welcome them. I did say that no voice mail was left and she did say that it depends on the representative if messages would be left. She also documented our conversation. I called the number back since I was driving at the time and when I heard United healthcare/Medicare, I hung up and then called the main customer service number. Whether or not they call again remains to be seen.
As with Roe and Eddie, I am also an unwilling customer of UHC. They call here almost every day and I just don't pick up. I finally decided to answer a few nights ago, to see what is about. They want to send someone her to my house to "evaluate" me. I told them how I feel in good old Ma Bell language. Now this, morning I get another call, from a different number welcoming me to United. Told her also how feel also. I am not a member by choice. If only the phone repair service was as pushy. ..but that is another story.
Got a call less than an hour ago. Went to answer it and no one was there. It only rang twice. Like above, I too was switched to UHC by Ma Bell. Why didn't they answer when I picked up? No VM left.
