Although they did not leave a message, this is probably United Health Care wanting to send a nurse to your home to evaluate your health. A friend of mine did agree to this and he felt the nurse actually did give him some useful information. However, after some research, I found out the reason for this is not "out of the kindness of UNHC's heart". If you have health issues, they can charge Medicare (the Fed Go) more. I have a checkup twice a year and know the status of my health but UNHC does not get these reports. Personally, I do NOT trust insurance companies and will not permit a person to enter my home to gather health info. If they need this info, they should send documentation to me by mail and I will fill it in and take it to my physician. I not longer give out info on the phone, either. Finally, if this is a legitimate call, they need to leave a message describing what they are wanting. Otherwise, I will block the call.
With all due respect, we had a choice if we wanted to take UHC or go with another supplemental company. I looked at another health care company and their monthly rates were almost as much as the Medical premiums we pay. I chose to try UHC for a year at no cost. I had called Verizon benefits prior to making my decision to keep it for now.
I called Verizon benefits before deciding to try UHC when I became Medicare eligible. I had a choice to use them or use another company and since there was no monthly premiums for that nor prescription coverage, I opted to try them for a year. We did not have to keep it if we didn't want the coverage. I am confused that maybe people were not aware they could use another company for their secondary coverage. It was an option.
We have had UHC for 10+ years. It was a regular ins policy or a medicare supplement. This year we had to take the medicare advantage plan. Since Jan 1 we have had dozens of calls from 612 435-3756, claiming Medicare REQUIRES them to do a health survey. Eventually they said this was the last call and they would mail us a questionnaire. It hasn't arrived. Today we have had 2 hangups fromf 763 435-9595. I am going to call Medicare and ask them if that is true.
I get numerous calls from with a United Health Care Caller ID, but the number is non-existent. There calls are originating from Minneapolis. I called UHC and they told me they have no knowledge of corporate policy for these calls. My retirement Plan B insurance comes from HP. I have ATT Uverse phone service so I block these number and they just pop up using another non-existence number.
Here is a good link to track incoming calls. https://www.area-codes.com/default.asp
