They are terrible and will violate every possible law when trying to collect a debt known to man. They called my place of employment and my supervisor answered the phone. They told her to give me a message that my employment verification was completed and to return their call. Now I have not been looking for a job, and I was almost fired because of this. I was in the office when she called, she could have just asked for me and I would have been paged and asked to come to the phone. Why would you just give a message to a supervisor and not ask to speak to the person unless you are purposely trying to create chaos. After calling her back and talking to her she came to the realization that she contacted the wrong person. I am still pissed because what she did was unethical! The caller was Tanya Johnson and she actually stated "The employment verification was complete", They are a debt collection company and do not perform employment verifications so she violated Federal Trade Commission guidelines by giving false information, and misrepresenting herself. She asked why was I mad since it had nothing to do with me? I told her 1. I almost lost my job because she is playing some game, and in this economy nobody can afford to be without a job and 2. she lied! I have already written a letter to the company president, I filed a complaint with the BBB, and I am in the process of filing a complaint with FTC. That will teach her to use underhanded tactics!!!!

I have been getting these calls from this number for about two weeks now. They are using my maiden name so this would be on something that is over 10 years old.They say they are from a debt Collection Agency and I have to call them back. On one of the calls they said it was from an Old Auto Loan. The only Auto Loan I had that didn't get "Paid Off" I did a Settlement on and that was about 6 years ago. And I am pretty sure it was with this same Debt Collection Agency. They threatened to take my house! We sent them every dime we had and didn't pay our Rent that month (We own a Mobile home so we have Space Rent) I remember we paid about $1700.00 And I think we had to pay it Western Union by the end of the day cause they said they were suing me. I don't remember getting any paperwork on it, and wouldnt even know where to look at this point. Nothing is on my Credit Report but the harassing calls from this phone number are 2, 3 and sometimes 4 times a day. And the phone number they say to call back on is 1-800-935-1139 Ext. 2106 And the ladys name is Mrs. Stevenson. There has been other calls with other people names. Everytimes we have tried to call back we get an answering machine. And I figure if they have my home phone number that I have had for the last 9 years they should have my address, but I have recieved nothing. I am thinking of changing my number because I think this is a SCAM and they already got money out of me once. I have tried to contact the Auto Finance Company I had the loan with and aparantly they have gone out of business, HouseHold Automotive Finance Corporation. Does anyone know anything about this? This harassment needs to stop.
This is almost the same thing that happend to me over 5 years ago with these people. They had me do a pay off on an old car loan of mine that the car had been totalled and the insurance company only paid $8,000 and I still owed $3,000 they threatened me and told me I had to pay by check and they would settle for $1700 or they were taking our home and suing us. We never got anything in the mail, we asked them repeatedly to send us something the calls were up to 6 times a day! Threatening us. We finally agreed to do a payment we took all our rent money for the month and everything we had in the checking account and did it Western Union to them it cost us like $100 bucks to send it. They never contacted us again or did we ever get anything from them. Now 5 years later they are trying to collect on the same debt we are getting all the calls again and threats. This company is doing illegal practices for sure and their people should be ashamed of themselves.
Got a call from tad and he used the same message about a legal matter against me. Either I or my representative needed to call back or he will file suit under some article 95 blah blah! Well I didn answer and check the number on here like i always do. This is a good place to get info. I have not gotten thier letter yet, but when I do I will send a cease and desist letter. I suggest anyone that wants the calls to stop to send a letter, certified and signature. Once you get it back make a copy and wait for them to call, answer it and let them go off and also right at the end just say, well why dont you pay the debt for me, since you will in the end have to owe me money. I did that once and he said you did and did we get it and I said yes and read off the card. They then hung up, I then called back and said they violated the law and said I had to right to sue for up to 2 years.... I never got a call from them again.
