Called @ 8:20 this morning and asked for me by name. I replied "how can I help you?" She said her name was Amanda and she was called on behalf of Life Giving Moments. I said "do you realize what time it is?" And, on a Saturday morning, no less! I hung up.
Called this morning at 8:15. My new Sentry call blocker blocked it after the first ring, so glad I bought that a month ago when the scam robocallers including the infamous "Rachel from Cardholder Services" would ring three or more times each day. Now that they've called once I have permanently blocked them on my Sentry, future calls won't even be given the option to ring through, it will hang up on them after the first ring.
Consumers Union, part of Consumer Reports, is leading an effort to demand phone companies such as AT&T and Verizon use existing technology to block the scam robocallers, glad to hear we're not alone with these daily nuisances perpetuated by criminals.
Just got a call at 8:10 AM from this number. They asked for me by name, than the connection seemed to get bad, but not disconnect, when I asked "regarding??".
They called our office this morning asking by name for our big boss. I told the caller that he was just on his way out to court, could someone else help, or could I take a message. She started her pitch and then said, "Wait, did you say court? Is he a lawyer?" My answer: "Well, you might have paid attention when I answered the phone and said, "District Attorney's office." She quickly said "Oh, XXXX." and hung up. Small victory for the little people...
Some bimbo called me from this number trying to disguise her scam or attempt to spread some [***] rhetoric as a survey about the media consumption of children. I've talked to cats smarter than this moronic woman.
