Got a call from 786-000-0000. Thought it was strange having all 0's. Said he was verifying our business listing from the State of California (where we are located) Went in to our address and phone number and wanted to verify more. I told him I was the answering service and to leave a message. He would not. Will not answer it again. Will let it go to voice mail from not on. Hate these kind of scams. After reading the below comments looks like they are changing there tactics
Just had a call from "Iris" who stated she needed to verify our "free online listing." Normally I hang up but had time so I verified what she had. She has pleasant for the most part until she asked for my last name. I refused, stated there was only 1 person w/ my first name here and then she became EXTREMELY rude. She stated she was going to keep calling and would not remove our number.
I like the idea of using a gym metal whistle for this caller or perhaps the great idea by a poster here who asked THEM for THEIR VISA number to charge the solicitor for wasting their time. LOVE IT!!
