Received the call and was told they were updating local Yellow Pages directory, and would publish a free online website for my business for $34.95/month. They indicated my business was only being listed FREE and that I would not be charged, but that's what I was told the last time on one of these scams. I was provided a toll-free number (800) 626-9515 to contact their Customer Service department, which I did immediately after the call. They answered as "Local Biz USA".
Received a call from 786-000-0000 said they were Buzz Links and wanted to update my free listing. The number they called was for my family business. I told them we were not intrested and to put our number on their Do NOT Call List. He said he needed to speak with the owner to do that. I told him that would be me. He said "You must be the owner's wife, I need to speak with the owner" My response was I am, and Put us on the List. He said "Look Lady" I repeated again to remove our number & hung up.
Promptly at the time our store opens this idiot calls saying they are from Ameribiz & they want to update our listing with them. As I happen to be in charge of advertising I know we don't have a listing with them, so I said to the moron, "We don't have a listing with you, do not call here again" & promptly hung up on HIM. He interrupted me midsentence (after I said we don't have a listing with you) & he was saying, "yes, but..." - I never let him finish.
they asked me for my name, how late we stay open, and what my name and last name was when i wouldnt give him any informaton he made fun of me and said "you must be Mexican" before hanging up.
Speak very fast so it is hard to understand but mentioned something about if I have the authorization to make changes to phone service? I asked them why they would need to know this if they are just verifying a free listing. Anyone know what the scam is?
