This company calls my office ALL THE TIME. I answered yesterday and the person asked for our business address, time of closing, phone number verification, etc. I was foolish enough to give them my name and tell them I was the manager. They "transferred me" ( didn't even put me on hold but I could hear them handing the phone to someone else who spoke so fast they must have done 5 lines before going to "work" that day...) and said something about a website.
Today they call back and say they are from BizLink (sounded like she said Disney- talking so fast) and transfers me again before I could say a word...I went with it out of curiousity...to some guy who starts asking the same questions as the previous call, I say "please take me off the list we aren't interested in a website service" he refuses and says its already in the system and I'm not the "owner" of the business so I don't have the authority to request that action. I told him, I AM THE MANAGER OF A CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION this isn't an "owned" business, I DO have the authority to be taken off the list...
He replies with. "Have a greaaaaat day (MY NAME) CLICK.
I called 1-800-626-9515 (Amerilink or something- found the number on here) and spoke to "Lisa" and told her, requested to be off the list. She unlike the other must not have been raised in a barn by wolves because she could speak to me clearly and had an ounce of respect. She said it was a "free trial" that our business wouldn't get billed. That she had to "look up" our information because we weren't in the system. (of course) and call me back... she gave me her direct line...
1-800-626-9515 ext 217. If I don't hear back from her today as she promised, or if I get another call. I'm filing a report with the Better Business Bureau and may get our litigation team involved for harassment. I suggest you do the same!
Called just now from 786 000 0000 number at my business. Even though I am registered on the donotcall listing I am getting more and more of these calls daily. As soon as she said "free listing" I blurted out NO and she stopped and started to talk again and i said NO again. This continued for a few more words until she went silent. I said please take me off your call listing, ok? She never said anything else so I hung up.
You have to watch these snakes in the grass. I once got tired of them calling so I agreed to their free listing. Some months later a strange charge is noticed on our phone bill where we are being billed for some BS and it that's what it came back to. I hadn't agreed to what the charge was for on the phone bill but they had my "verbal agreement" recording to say I did. This is what you call scamming and our wonderful government and FCC is doing a great job preventing this stuff, aren't they? Let's give them a hand.
told them not to call me and called again next day. said something about they wanted to update my free business directory listing, does not sound legit.
claimed they were a free business Internet listing service when I said I do not authorize any billing for service she told me "too bad you already authorized this" and hung up before I could get in another word............. I could not trace the call back to report it to the FTC it comes up blank.........how does that happen?
