so one of our employees gave out some info to one of these calls...i guess she didnt look at the caller i.d. she gave the store hours and her name..is something going to happen?
Caller claimed he was with Amerilink and wanted to verify our business information. After incorrectly stating the city in which we are located, he asked if I had some time. I said, "One moment," and put him on hold. He hung up within 15 seconds.
JUST RECEIVED A CALL ON MY BUSINESS LINE. WE HAVE A POLICY OF NOT ANSWERING STRANGE OR OUT-OF-AREA CALLS.
WE SIMPLY (AND QUICKLY) LIFT THE RECEIVER AND JUST AS QUICKLY PUT THE RECEIVER BACK DOWN.
IT MAKES THE CALLER THINK THAT THE NUMBER THEY HAVE CALLED IS NOT IN SERVICE.
WE HAVE REDUCED NUISUANCE CALLS BY 95%!
This number called us stating that they were Ameribiz? and they wanted to update our free online listing with them. I told the lady who called to please remove the free listing, we had never requested one to begin with. She said "but it's a free online listing for your business". I repeated myself again and also told her to remove our number from their call list, then I hung up.
