This Indian MF left several messages as well. I decided to pick up and entertain his call yesterday. He was quick to provide his name, badge number, supervisors name, and telephone # which is ironically the same # (786-398-9367). He tried to tell me that the IRS had sent two notifications to me that had been returned and that they would be prosecuting me for tax fraud among a number of other crimes, While continuing the conversation, a quick Google of the aforementioned # brought me to several sites and postings. I asked him if he was aware that hundreds of people were discussing his scam online and referring to him by name? I also asked him if he realized that the IRS does not outsource collections to India with representatives that have broken English? They operate via certified mail. He stammered a bit. I offered to settle and asked him to come visit me at my address and that I would be happy to let him have it. He hung up. I called the local police department to report him. I couldn't even get through half of my story. They knew his name and #, were well aware of his criminal actions, and were pursuing him. How much of this is true, I don't know. Moral to the story: Log in to your account with your provider and just block the #....as he actually had the audacity to call me back a few hours later :)
My problem with these dweebs is I live on the West Coast and they call at 6:00AM! Every time I block a number, they just spoof a different one. This time I was so pissed I called them back immediately (from a blocked #) and told the little turd that answered that I was with the FBI and was investigating complaints from their location. They immediately hung up, and when I called back 30 seconds later, the number had been disconnected.
If the NSA wants to improve their public image, I would throw them a parade if they shut these guys down.
I do in fact work with the IRS as a Specialist and this person calling from 786-398-9367 called my mother and left a message stating he was "Officer Kevin Falkner"...no badge number (as we are required to given when calling). We also do not leave messages on answering machines. My mother was worried, but I told her not to fret - I knew it was a scam before the message had finished. BTW, "Mr. Falkner" ended his message with "if you do not return my call, good luck". Best we can do is report the number to the IRS (which I have)...clearly posing as a Federal Agent is a crime - hopefully someone will catch this douche before too much damage is caused.
