Accufile voicemailed me today. I've never been in trouble with the law in my life, so although they sounded very stern and official, I'm glad to have found this site. I'm in Henderson, NV. It seems as though they were targeting LV Valley residents.

Sick of the calls
Received the same exact message as the others with Amy from acufile and serving me papers, supposed to call someone back, and all that. I was called on a landline and I have a little white block box on my landline that I now used for their phone company.

FBI doesn't care either. Would be nice if they did. But I even had a scammer call and claim they were the IRS and that I owed them money. But FBI gave me some big song and dance that they can't do anything. Even though the scammer was impersonating a Federal Agency. Even though the scammer claimed if I didn't pay I'd have a warrant out for my arrest. What I found interesting is the FBI just directs you to their own web site pages that says beware of these scammers. That no legit business will demand money over the phone.

Let's see. I have had scammers call me claiming to be my utility company, a loan company (who ended up having nothing with my name in their files), the phone company and even the IRS. All are explosive when you ask too many questions. All make threats. I particularly enjoyed that the fake IRS had my first and last name and last four of my social security number. I said IRS should have all of the number and they yelled at me that they didn't. Of course when I called the regular IRS they directed me to their web site that said to beware of that scam and that IRS doesn't call demanding money... EVER. When I asked the loan company what exactly the loan was for, they had no answer and starting throwing a fit. When I asked the utility company for my entire account number, they couldn't supply it. I asked the same for the phone company and was at that moment holding my phone bill that happened to come that very day with a credit of over 200 dollars left as I like to pay in advance all the time.

Be careful. These people make a lot of threats and none of it was real. My phone wasn't shut off, my utilities weren't shut off, there was NO loan in my name when I called the real loan company, and no one arrested me for not giving money to the fake IRS. They try a lot of tactics. The minute they get mean and nasty is the minute you know you are taking to a scammer. Someone claiming to be someone they aren't. Hang up. Block phone numbers. and Just know they will try again on another number claiming to be a different company.
