I saw that it was a number I did not recognize so I did not answer. They did not leave a message but my caller ID said it was "Broadband Dynamics" in New Albany, IN.
They told me they were looking for help and had me go to a site where I filled out an application. I thought I had a chance at employment. This is very discouraging. Forgive me library, you get money from the government and I do not. I believe my rent and car payment will be first to be paid thank you. Very jerky thing to do. I will speak with my library. As they are a half block away and I knock on their home doors to tell them how unneighborly this was -where is the empathy for your neighbors. jerks.
Called me at 8pm Pacific time . They also do collections for the libraries is Spokane Washington. But yeah I returned my over dues. So they can kids my [***]. All I owe is 15 bucks. And I think food and utilities are a little more important to pay than library fines.
Does anyone else find it fishy that the library would even use a collection agency at all? I am seriously wondering if this is a scam using information they obtained on library dues. I am going to be calling our local library to ask more about it. Especially with reading about the odd hours (I get them too for my daughter and it sent up my red flags when she asked if I was a family member or anything when I said my daughter didn't live here anymore) I will be looking more into this and I would suggest anyone else do so as well.
also I forgot to add they misrepresented themselves as being FROM The library and not as a bill collector. I looked them up and they are legit but their practices are not. I saw a few complaints about them.
