Asking for money because of a law sue against me and if I dont provided him with a payment he will file a criminal charge against me and I would be arrested for it.
Did anything happen? I received this call as well and I spoke to them and ignored them! Now I had an officer call me same accent different person number comes up as a piblic defender!???? Number and address pop up to the courthouse? I'm what's going on
It's all a scam. The first time they called me, the guy (with a thick heavy Indian accent) said that "they" are filing a lawsuit against me. I kept on interrupting him asking who was they. He hung up on me. If you tell them that one of your relatives is the chief of police and another is the d.a. of whatever town and send all the paperwork to them, they will normally stop
This number called my work phone and left me a message saying a case was going to be filed against me and forwarded to the police department. A guy with a very heavy Indian accent. So I called back and asked in what state and county this was in because I didn't know the area code and I wanted to look up the court to call them (so I could verify the information he was giving me). The guy was rude and wouldn't answer me. When I told him to go ahead and send it to the police department because I would be calling them and reporting this phone number he hung up on me. Obviously a scam.
I had been getting threathning call from them, so I was caught off guard tried to pay them with my credit card said only accepted western union, went and wired $300 then they wanted more calling me 30 times back to back, then called me from police department so I returned the call and it was fraud...PLEASE BEWARE, I AM OUT $300
Ignore and block the calls Total scam originating in India and Pakistan. They are simiply spoofing local numbers to appear official. Being in ordinary civil debt is NOT a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. DO NO PAY THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING. Common debt scam.
