They are "riding the wave" as many communities are having or had Koman races and events.
Just like the spike of police/fire scam calls around 9/11. These scammers really deserve a very sound thrashing. But we'll get back at them by shutting them down by not answering and blocking their calls.
This caller CCI from 850-542-8779 calls everyday and does not speak, does not leave message. They are calling everyday for the last week. How can I report them or make them stop?
They also use 850-601-0014. Caller ID says United Breast Cancer. This is a scam in the fact they collect a lot of money from suckers who don't do any research into this alleged charity. Most of the money goes to the people who run the charity. Only about 6% goes to cancer patients. Assuming that the call really is from the United Breast Cancer Organization, they are a "legitimate" charity, but do not meet the standards of the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance. Among other things, they only use 60% of their money on actual program activities rather than their own expenses; the standard of the BBB is at least 65%. They also violate certain other standards and have failed to be forthcoming with information about their activities. So they are a real charity organization, but appear to be a partial scam as well.
