They are "riding the wave" as many communities are having or had Koman races and events.
Just like the spike of police/fire scam calls around 9/11. These scammers really deserve a very sound thrashing. But we'll get back at them by shutting them down by not answering and blocking their calls.
United Breast Cancer charity calls from this number, as well as 850-601-0014. I have asked very politely over and over again to be put on their internal Do Not Call list. They just hang up on me. Not a very professional way to handle donation requests.
Called back the number 850-542-8779. A machine answered saying you have reach the United Breast Cancer inquiry line. I hung up. Blocked my number to see if anyone answered.
They hung up after I answered. So I called back hoping to tear them a new one (I hadn't been home 5 min. before they called). They claim to be doing breast cancer "research". The calling options said I could be taken off their list by pressing 2. If this doesn't stop it, I will take note each call afterwards and speaks with an attorney. I local attorney said you may be able to sue them if they call after you tell them to stop calling.
