They are "riding the wave" as many communities are having or had Koman races and events.
Just like the spike of police/fire scam calls around 9/11. These scammers really deserve a very sound thrashing. But we'll get back at them by shutting them down by not answering and blocking their calls.

These are charity scammers.
The federal government's Do Not Call Program is a scam too. It is just another program from the US Congress to make you THINK that they are doing something great for you. Do Not Call does NOT apply to political calls or charity calls either. Buy a telephone that will block any and all calls for you. You can block the entire number at the push of a button or you can block all calls that come from particular area codes. I have had one for over a year and it is wonderful. It can block up to 250 numbers.
