They are "riding the wave" as many communities are having or had Koman races and events.
Just like the spike of police/fire scam calls around 9/11. These scammers really deserve a very sound thrashing. But we'll get back at them by shutting them down by not answering and blocking their calls.
Get call from CCI several times asking for my deceased husband on and on for 3 years then they stop, today at 8:02am call again I answer but just quiet so I hang up, maybe the caller try to find out some one at home or not so can break in???
This is among the numbers we block. They might or might not be a valid charitable organization, but one never knows when they make so many cold calls asking for donations. NEVER give any sort of money or promise to give monies to people who call you on the phone. They can be crooks just as easily as they can be legitimate. If you want to donate money to a charity, you should be the one contacting the charity you want to donate to, not the other way around.
I just pressed answer and didn't say anything. They hung up. These scammers keep calling from different numbers. One of these days I may try to order food for delivery from them. If they can waste my time, turnabout is fair play.
CCI-Cancer fundraiser seeking donations as they provide services for cancer screening for patients...etc. Not sure which non profit it is...I do not donate over the phone...
