I am unemployed, can you wait when I retire? If D.C. cut my pay on S.S. by then, then forget about it! Did you know I went shopping and the LITTLE BOY who work at the CASH REG. at Shaw told me if I want to donate. I told him, when I was a LITTLE BOY at your age,I was in GRAMMAR SCHOOL!
Called this morning. Blocked by Phone Tray Free. Looks like the shady "Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation" has switched phone numbers (probably spoofed Caller ID) again. Their dismal two-star rating at Charitynavigator.org (http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?key ... =search.results) tells you most of what you need to know about these people. The fact that they do telemarketing and swap phone numbers to evade blocking tells you the rest.
Not that it makes a lot of difference, but just a bit of trivia for you. It is just as easy to grab a new number as it is to spoof one. For what I call loophole scammers (fake charities are a prime example) it makes sense to maintain a pretense of legitimacy. It seems more likely that they would simply provision a new number.
(As an experiment, I just purchased and provisioned a new number as quickly as I could. I did it in 58 seconds. If I keep it I will pay 99 cents a month for it. If I get rid of a previous number then there will be no additional net cost.)
