Called early AM here too. Turned phone on and off never said a word. I intend to annoy them right back. Caller ID only says CHILDREN"S CANCE but I can guess the rest.
Called AGAIN today; this has got to be the 8th or more time. Caller ID said "CHILDRENS CANCE" [sic]. I've tried IGNORING these calls but that doesn't seem to be working SO THIS TIME I picked up WITHOUT saying anything; DEAD AIR on the other end. Waited about 30 seconds, still not saying ANYTHING; wanted to see how long it took for ROBODIALER to transfer me to a 'live' person - or disconnect. Finally a woman came on the line and asked for my husband by his first name (RUDE). We have a difficult-to-pronounce (for illiterates!) last name.
I IMMEDIATELY said "TAKE OUR NAME AND NUMBER OFF YOUR LIST". She very pleasantly, replied, Oh, I'm sorry if I offended you; I'll put you on our DNC list immediately. Have a nice day."
Regret not getting the NAME of the TELEMARKETER (and what legit-SOUNDING ~~YET BOGUS~~ "charity" they were PRETENDING to solicit for. We'll see if this "WORKS." I may have just 'signed up' for even MORE calls. Sigh.
If you don't want to 'hear' people whine in these posts then DON'T COME TO THESE SITES.
DON'T READ THE POSTS. AND, DON'T post things yourself.
We all come here to SHARE INFO and that INCLUDES "whining" about WHEN they called, and how much they ANNOY us and the fact that the DNC List is **SUPPOSED** to work - even if it 'doesn't'
**YOU** just 'whined' about how 'the government doesn't work' so SHUT UP and go RUN FOR OFFICE, Yourself, if you're so much smarter!
BTW, if EVERYONE who posted here ALSO put in an OFFICIAL COMPLAINT *WITH* the DNC LIST after *EACH* *AND* *EVERY* *ONE* of these calls, then MAYBE it WOULD work a little better. Time consuming, yes. Everything of any value, IS.
So, Unless YOU do that, you are just as bad as the 'whiners' YOU are complaining about.
